Case Study – Mr & Mrs Marshall

Mr & Mrs Marshall have lived in their home in Polstead Heath for 27 years, during which time they have renovated the house from top to bottom. The original windows were single glazed with wooden frames: “The curtains used to be blown around by the draught from the windows and we could hear traffic noise from the road outside,” said Mrs Marshall.

When the decision was made to replace all 17 windows at the property, Mr & Mrs Marshall found a local company through the CIN. The retailer brought sample frames and handles to the house and the couple chose to remain with the original Georgian style. “We wanted something which looked natural, like real wood,” described Mrs Marshall. “The style of window frame we chose is very chunky and has a woodgrain effect, they don’t look plastic at all.”

The installation took three days and the couple were impressed with the service they received: “We knew in advance what would be happening when and exactly what we would be getting,” said Mrs Marshall. “The fitters were excellent, very pleasant, professional and trustworthy. I didn’t feel I had to move anything – they covered everything up, didn’t make any mess, didn’t damage anything and we didn’t have to redecorate around the windows, which was a big relief. It went so smoothly, we were really pleased,” said Mrs Marshall.

Since having the new windows, the house is draught free and the couple have noticed a reduction in their energy bills. The next project for Carol and Neil is a new roof for their garden room and they plan to use a CIN installer, explaining: “When we’re investing a lot of money, obviously we want to feel secure, that we’re using a company we can trust. You know you’re going to get a professional job when you choose a CIN installer.”
