Case Study – Mr & Mrs Witham

Window Installation with Broadland Windows

For Mr & Mrs Witham it was a big decision to change their windows. They have lived in their Norwich home since it was built 25 years ago and the original timber windows had come to the end of their life.

Window Installation, Norwich, Broadland WindowsThe couple considered replacing the wooden windows with like-for-like oak window frames but, after weighing up the pros and cons, opted for the benefits of uPVC: “I’m too old to be staining and treating wooden window frames every year,” joked Mr Witham. “We wanted something that would be maintenance-free.”

They obtained several quotes from local suppliers and chose Broadland Windows for the job. “We liked the Sales Rep,” Mr Witham explained. “He knew his stuff and advised us on all the small details – where we needed toughened glass for example and what kind of window we needed to meet fire regulations in one of the upstairs bedrooms that has a very small window. We also really liked the products. The other local retailers we spoke to seemed to have a very limited range and there was nothing that really took our fancy – when we saw the products from Broadland, we knew exactly what we wanted.”

Mr & Mrs Witham chose stylish woodgrain effect window frames in Agate Grey on the outside, with an off-white woodgrain on the inside to fit with their neutral decor. “Other companies were charging more for a different colour inside, so we were delighted when Broadland Windows said that there would be no additional cost to have what we wanted,” said Mr Witham. “Because we were replacing timber windows it was important to us to replicate the look of wooden frames – the Rep from Broadland understood that and worked with us to achieve equal sightlines using dummy sashes, he recommended a window with a high quality Georgian bar and we chose the monkeytail handles to really finish off the look.”

We were expecting to need to redecorate once the new windows were in, but the job was done so perfectly that you couldn’t tell he’d been there. He cleaned up after himself and left absolutely no mess – we were really impressed.”

It’s another successful installation by a member of the Certified Installer Network: “Broadland Windows were excellent – they’ve done us proud,” Mr Witham told us. “They advised us on the best products to achieve the look we wanted and whereas other local companies wanted us to go through the motions of haggling down on price, Broadland Windows gave us their best price upfront and offered us good value for money.

“We couldn’t be happier customers,” said Mr Witham. “The house feels warmer and the windows look great. Lots of our friends have passed comment and we’ve recommended Broadland Windows highly to all of them.”
